![Office-1](https://www.saraceninteriors.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Office-1.jpg?width=673&name=Office-1.jpg)If you are in the planning stages of looking at an office refurbishment, then this is an exciting time. There are so many options available to you, but you will definitely want to be aware that an office in 2022 looks a lot different than offices did just a few years ago.

Here, we look at some sustainable [office fit-out](https://www.saraceninteriors.com/commercial-office-fit-outs) options which will bring your office into the modern-day.

**Biophilia**

Have you noticed that everyone has plants in their homes now? More than ever before, people are seeing how plants can improve your living space by keeping you in touch with nature and providing a pop of colour. Now plants are becoming more and more popular in office spaces, too. Plants improve your office environment, and can actually improve happiness and productivity. With office design becoming more and more clean and minimal, plants add visual interest and a sense of calm.

**Waste Reduction**

We are all more aware of the importance of individual actions when it comes to affecting environmental change. It is all too easy to forget about this at the office, but in order to achieve a truly sustainable space, you need to consider your waste.

Look at reusing products that may usually be thrown away - for example, you can have walls made from recycled materials. You could even find decorations created with recycled materials. These small steps allow you to make sustainable choices at every level.

**Using Less Energy**

You can help your employees to use less energy day-to-day, but did you know you can even build energy-saving methods into your[ office fit-out](https://www.saraceninteriors.com/commercial-office-fit-outs)? Install energy-saving light bulbs, or take this refurb as an opportunity to go paperless. If you’re really serious about spending less in the long run, invest now in good quality carpet underlay, and double-glazing. This is a great way to reduce your overall carbon footprint and promote sustainability, all while saving you a fair sum in heating bills over the next five, ten, or even twenty years. And speaking of carpet underlay…

**Flooring**

Something as simple as the flooring you choose for your office can help you to improve your sustainability. You can opt for materials like wood, which is a sustainable and natural material, or a carpet which is made from recycled materials. A high-quality floor will also help to retain heat more effectively later on.

With these sustainable office fit-out options in mind, your [office fit-out](https://www.saraceninteriors.com/commercial-office-fit-outs) installation can be truly modern and inspiring for all your employees.
