Here at Saracen, we are delighted to announce our upcoming project with London food distribution charity, City Harvest. Boots on site first week of November 2022!
Founded in 2014, City Harvest is London’s first food distribution charity, taking surplus produce from the food industry and supplying to those in need, providing over 1 million meals a month to more than 350 charities. London produces close to 2 million tonnes of food waste per annum, and City Harvest play an integral role in making the capital more sustainable, rescuing produce that would otherwise be wasted and distributing it to those who need it most.
We are honoured to be partnering with City Harvest in completing an office refurbishment within their 10,000sq ft facility in London, a refresh of the space including brand-new meeting rooms and cellular offices. As time is precious when providing such vital work for the community, the project has been meticulously planned in order to carry out work while occupation resumes, it has been phased so that refurbishment is quick, efficient, and ensuring minimum disruption.
The current cost of living crisis puts the UK in a food emergency, with 1 in 4 Londoners struggling to afford sufficient food. This makes City Harvest’s work all the more urgent, and we are thrilled to be able to work with such an incredible organisation that is making an exceptional difference to the world. The team have been truly wonderful to work with so far, and we can’t wait to get this project underway, providing an excellent service to a more than deserving cause!
